Bola Ahmed Adekunle Tinubu is a Nigerian politician, businessman, and the national leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) political party. He was born on March 29, 1952, in Lagos State, Nigeria.



Tinubu began his political career in 1992 when he was elected to the Nigerian Senate representing Lagos West Constituency. He served in the Senate until 1993 when the military government of General Sani Abacha dissolved all political offices in the country.


In 1999, Tinubu was elected as the Governor of Lagos State under the platform of the Alliance for Democracy (AD) political party. He served two terms from 1999 to 2007 and is credited with initiating various development projects in the state, including the construction of roads, bridges, and public facilities.


Tinubu also played a key role in the formation of the APC political party in 2013, which successfully defeated the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 general elections, leading to the election of Muhammadu Buhari as President of Nigeria.


In recent years, Tinubu has been touted as a possible presidential candidate for the 2023 general elections in Nigeria, although he has not officially declared his intention to run for the office.
