The early life of the light pen before fame

Ekene popularly known by his stage name “Lightpen” is a talented Nigerian hip-hop singer, songwriter, rapper, Afrobeat singer, recording artist and stage performer, born on May 1, 2000 into a Christian family in Ebonyi State. He received his primary and secondary education at Ebony State. He started singing and rapping when he was in school. The church also played an important role in his first encounter with music, where he started rapping regularly with friends. At the age of 12, he became popular among the church and was declared the "leader of the hip-pop nation" by the congregation, where he began to mentor other young hip-hop singers. However, he lost his father and brother at the age of 15. His love for music helped him overcome the difficulties he faced. He was inspired by artists like Wizkid, 2Face and gospel singers like Frank Edwards and Ernst Adat. It was also inspired by Mo's hit era.
